Although the exact cost of the film production can never be clear due to the secretive nature of the Hollywood film accounting, the following are the estimated to be the costliest ever.

10. The Dark Knight Rises

 

Directed by Christopher Nolan with Christian Bale playing the superhero opposite Anna Hathaway, this if the final sequel of the Batman trilogy.


9. Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest

 

The second of the series, this 2006 adventure fantasy is the highest grossing film by Walt Disney Pictures starring Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom.

The 1995 science- fiction is the most expensive film of its time takes us to the future where the ice caps have melted and the mutant Mariner fights for starvation and helps a woman and a young girl to find dry land.

A 2010 animated musical fantasy, Tangled is the most expensive animated film ever made. This Walt Disney Production, which spent six years in production, is based on the story of tale of Rapunzel. The film made an estimate profit of $560 million and has a short sequel Tangled Ever After.

The third sequel of the series which released in 2007 shows Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and Captain Barbossa rescue the famous Captain Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones’s locker. Jack Sparrow, the protagonist played by Johnny Depp has become a star among the little ones. With an estimated cost of $300 million, it makes it to No. 1 in the list of most expensive movies of all-time.
